Our 10 month qualifying course in holistic massage therapy gives you the skills and knowledge to become a massage therapist. Externally accredited by the Massage Training Institute (MTI) our course offers thorough training in practical massage techniques, anatomy, physiology & pathology, and practice management.

Our course is taught by Amanda Oswald, lead therapist and owner of the Pain Care Clinic. We keep our classes sizes small to ensure all students have the benefit of individual support and attention.

About the MTI

The Massage Training Institute was the first and original accrediting body for massage therapy in the UK. The model of training and practice created by the MTI now forms part of the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) standards for holistic massage in the UK.

The MTI is a not-for-profit company that remains dedicated to massage therapy and nothing else. Unlike other training approaches the focus is on teaching students a wide variety of techniques that can be adapted to an individual client rather than applying a set routine to all.

The MTI maintains high standards with all students assessed by an external MTI examiner. The Diploma course itself is also externally examined annually and all MTI tutors maintain their professional skills through structured programmes.

What our course consists of

  • 10 x 2 days in-person training a month in practical techniques – we run these at weekends for your convenience
  • 10 x 1 Zoom evening tutorial a month covering essential theory including anatomy, physiology & pathology and practice management
  • Monthly Zoom drop-in supervision session
  • One day Emergency First Aid at Work course
  • Externally assessed examination of practical skills
  • Written assignments for anatomy, physiology & pathology theory and practice management
  • Student registration with MTI + insurance

Entry Requirements

You do need to be over 18 and physically able to perform practical massage. The course is taught and examined in English.
