Lumbago (lower back pain)

Lumbago (lower back pain)

Lumbago is a general, non-specific term for lower back pain. It is characterised by pain and stiffness in the lower back region either on lifting or twisting, although it can also occur for no apparent reason.

Lower back pain can indicate a weak back, AKA lumbar insufficiency, due to uncorrected poor posture or incorrect technique (in sports).

Lower back pain is very common in office workers, due the time spent sitting in front of computers, and is a common cause of absence from the workplace.
