The festival season continues and, after a very enjoyable weekend at the York Health & Healing Festival in April, Pain Care Clinic will be at the Leeds Health & Healing Festival on 16th & 17th July 2016.
With over 75 exhibition stands, the Leeds Festival has something to offer everyone interested in complementary health approaches.
This will be our first year at the Leeds festival and, as this is also our home city, we are very excited about attending and talking to people about myofascial release. We will be offering a limited number of free 10 minute taster sessions over the weekend. These are available on a first come first served basis, so please get there early to book your slot. Alternatively, you can email us in advance to reserve a time.
Amanda Oswald will also be giving a talk about back pain. Back pain is the most common persistent pain condition globally according to the Global Burden of Disease study and will be experienced by 80% of adults at some stage in the life. Back pain now accounts for 5 million days off sick a year in the UK.
However, in over 85% of cases, the cause of back pain is not clear. For many people it is due to a combination of many factors including posture, incorrect lifting and stress. And for many the solution to their back pain does not have to involve surgery or medication.
As an experienced practitioner and trainer with a long track record of successfully treating clients with back pain, Amanda will:
- Debunk some myths about back pain
- Explain some of the contributory factors to back pain
- Demonstrate how myofascial release can help alleviate back pain and restore movement
- Offer some simple self-help techniques
- Answer your questions.
Amanda’s talk is at 12pm on Sunday 17th. You can book for this talk when you arrive on the day.
If you’re planning to come to the festival, please make sure you pop by our stand to say hello, and to enter our draw for a “complimentary complementary” myofascial release treatment at our Leeds clinic.
The Leeds Health & Healing Festival is being held at Leeds Grammar School at Alwoodley Gate, Harrogate Road, Leeds, LS17 8GS open 10am to 5pm on both Saturday 16 & Sunday 17 July 2016.
